I know it’s a little early for this but I’ve been watching Kamari Lassiter CB for Georgia and this dude seems like he would be perfect in Baltimore. Complete corner who dominates in man but the thing that stands out is his ridiculous open field tackling. What are some prospects y’all would like to see in purple?
Treyveon Henderson or Blake Corum in round 2
Gotta wait to see how healthy the players remain but I’d like an OT with OG versatility for the left side. A CB would be nice but not the most pressing (Marlon + Stephens to start, Pepe in the slot, JAD to back up + others who could be cheap from the current team). Someone on the DL depending on free agency. Heck a WR could be fun if a talented one falls.
Who I hope for:
OT:
- Joe Alt (Note Dame)
- Olu Fashanu (Penn State)
CB
- Nate Wiggins (Clemson)
Edge
- Dallas Turner (Bama)
- Laiatu Latu
Who I’d be happy with:
OT
- JC Latham (Bama)
- Amarius Mims (Georgia)
CB
- Cooper Dejean (IOWA)
- Kool-Aid McKinstry (Bama)
- Kalen King (Penn State)
Edge
- Chop Robinson
DT
- Jer’Zhan Newton (Illinois)
Our pick has to be a LT or guards, I know it’s not the sexiest position but we absolutely are going to need to with Stanley probably being a cap casualty next season
Hopefully it’s LT or CB.
LT is the clear top priority this off-season. By far. Stanley’s hurt again and even if he finishes this year, he hasn’t played to Pro Bowl Stanley in a while and will only continue getting more fragile. He’s not a total turnstile but he’s been beat waaaay too often for his massive contract. His cap hit goes up to 26m the next 2 years and he’s 1 of the highest paid LTs in the NFL despite being fairly mediocre to decent at best. He’s not an elite LT but is taking up the cap space of an elite franchise LT. Ideally Sala or Faalele can start but I’m not counting on it, and we need depth. Imo they’d rather sign an experienced LT than roll out an inexperienced rookie at LT, we’ve had good luck with vet OL so don’t be surprised if that’s what happens. But either way, we’re def drafting a LT this year.
CB is still a need, Pepe’s the best of the young corners and he’s missed most of this season injured. Marlon is still good but he’s been hurt a lot lately, corners are delicate and get hurt easily. CB isn’t as dire a need as it used to be since Darby’s here. Rock has overall been good. The star is unexpectedly Stephens, who honestly might deserve the starting CB2 job. He’s been awesome.
I’d say they take BPA, but are looking at LT and CB the most. We’ll get DL in rd2 or 3 and find a gem there like we did with Travis.
He won’t be there but I’d love Kool-Aid McKinstry just to say we have a guy named Kool-Aid McKintstry on the team
I’ve done a couple mock drafts and Tyler Guyton out of Oklahoma seems to be available often with our 2nd round pick. Seems like a solid OL option with decent hands and solid footwork
I’d also like us to try to get Kingsley Suamataia and Isaac Rex out of BYU. Both would be really low risk high reward guys if they can develop under our coaching staff
