I see alot of people complain about Russ dumping it off a lot, but has anybody realized tho that they literally have 4 wrs on the team? I feel like that limits the offense so much, can’t even run a lot of shotgun sets. The tight ends seem to be none existent as-well. Hopefully we can pick up a wr and open this offense up a little pit

Yeah I don’t think it’s that if you watch the tape of our offense in any game before the jets game you will see Russ isn’t a system QB, he doesn’t do well getting through progressions. Payton has simplified the offense to minimize mistakes since the jets game. It is Payton’s fault technically but only cause of Russ abilities. Still wouldn’t mind another WR tho

I was listening to Rich Eison and he said he was talking to Kurt Warner. Kurt said that he has watched a lot of tape and that receivers are getting open, but Russ isn’t seeing them. Take that for what it’s worth 🤷🏻‍♂️

Payton called a bunch of screens because he knows Wilson can’t read a normal pass play.

Doesn’t Mahomes dump it down to his safety net, Kelce? Kelce doesn’t always get the pass in stride, he doesn’t run deep(er) posts or go routes. Kelce sits in soft zones between 5 - 8 yards sometimes, sometimes further. Just because we’re dumping it for short yardage, at least it’s beyond the line of scrimmage as opposed to Teddy who would dump down at or behind the line of scrimmage.

Passes don’t have to be pretty or flashy, they just have to be effective. Obviously they have been because we’re winning…

Last point, Rod Smith used to say, “you only need to gain 3.5 yards on every play and eventually you’ll score.” The slower the offense moves the ball down the field, the longer the opposing defense is on the field getting worn out.

The injury bug opted to just go after our receivers this year. It was bad losing Tim and then the whole Hamler situation is not on anybody, but it didn’t help Brandon Johnson went down. Dude was such a solid WR for us
