I don’t know how people can continue to blame Russ’s olines when this dude is consistently at the top of the league in sacks year after year with multiple different lines and now even completely different teams, you know what they say you keep running into the same problem you might be the problem.

Only if he came here and balled of course not at his current rate, I’m not sure how 5th year options work when a player is traded but could activate that if possible and have 5yrs at 40M or less a year would keep us extremely competitive as far as cap tables go. If he came here put up 3.5K+ yards 25+TDs at a 2:1 TD:INT I think that’d be reasonable

He has only had 1 game with over 200 passing yards on this win streak (I feel like he has to be close to some sort of record for wins in a season with less than 200 passing yds). It’s been fun but to be real if these TOs we are getting on D slow down I think we will see more Ls roll in. Payton has Russ on a leash as well as our offense I’m sure he’d like to let it go but that’s proven to lose games, so I would like a QB Payton is comfortable handing full control of the offense he would like to run.

Yeah I don’t think it’s that if you watch the tape of our offense in any game before the jets game you will see Russ isn’t a system QB, he doesn’t do well getting through progressions. Payton has simplified the offense to minimize mistakes since the jets game. It is Payton’s fault technically but only cause of Russ abilities. Still wouldn’t mind another WR tho

Yeah Russ has 19 TDs… but if you take the top 5 in passing YDs excluding Russ the avg passing yards is 2,479 and the avg attempts is 321. Russ got 2,065 pretty close to Zach Wilson tbh and 296 attempts.

Now the question we have to ask ourselves is this efficient offense or the fact that we are top 5 in TOs and most of those happen on the OPP side of the field? Psst this game holds the answer to that question

Sure it could be but that doesn’t discount them being miles ahead on blitz calls of every team besides the giants. You never want to be that obvious with your play calling as it makes you easy to game plan for. You know what they are calling half of the time.

Payton has had to simplify his scheme for Russ to the point we are a dink and dunk offense, that typically doesn’t work very well (see Ridder, Z.Wilson). Our passing game has felt pretty 1 dimensional since the Jets game.

Yeah the Vikings are blitz heavy but they are wildly ineffective at it, they run blitz on 49% of their plays 1st in the NFL but they are 20th in pressures and in the middle of the pack in hurries I think they run blitz so often because giving more time exposes some holes in their defense.

The chains are on the offense because Russ can’t run Payton’s offense he has continually simplified the scheme over the season for Russ to the point where we are a dink and dunk offense but ey Russ isn’t turning the ball over so that’s nice

Anything over 3 seconds really, ball should be out in 2.5 seconds. I was shocked how well our secondary played because I felt like mahomes was getting all the time in the world often
