I’m going to admit to being wrong. I was too hard on the guy. First two games looked like trash to me. The adjustments he has made and the playcalls since week 3 have improved even with losses to Carolina and ATL. The biggest adjustment he made is putting the ball in CJs hands.
Hopefully last week he learned that when he has a 10 point lead its better to hand the ball off than to risk an unnecessary mistake that gives a team a chance to win. We wouldn’t have a 6-4 record without Slowik.
He’s been awesome since Carolina. You want an aggressive OC. Of course you want the Texans to win it all, but this year has always been about player development. Putting CJ in these positions time and time again will make him better for it in the future. The best thing about it, is that it’s not costing the Texans any games.
