I’m going to admit to being wrong. I was too hard on the guy. First two games looked like trash to me. The adjustments he has made and the playcalls since week 3 have improved even with losses to Carolina and ATL. The biggest adjustment he made is putting the ball in CJs hands.

Hopefully last week he learned that when he has a 10 point lead its better to hand the ball off than to risk an unnecessary mistake that gives a team a chance to win. We wouldn’t have a 6-4 record without Slowik.

I think fans were not to hard on him, he has adapted and gotten better. Seems like he is learning as a rookie OC and getting better each week.

He’s been awesome since Carolina. You want an aggressive OC. Of course you want the Texans to win it all, but this year has always been about player development. Putting CJ in these positions time and time again will make him better for it in the future. The best thing about it, is that it’s not costing the Texans any games.

I disagree with the running the ball. Every time a coach does that, it’s short gains, pass on 3rd and 6 for an incompletion and then punt the ball away. Repeat like 2 more times and suddenly the other team is back in the game. I hate that. Keep doing what got you the lead, keep the pedal on the floor and keep putting points on the board. I’d rather be aggressive and live with the mistakes then be passive and safe and give away our momentum and lead. I don’t blame Slowik for what happened in the 2nd half that much. Those plays are on CJ to make, it’s just a learning lesson from him.

People complain when we run the ball, people complain when we put the ball in CJs hands. No middle ground with this sub, additionally, I’ll never fault Slowik for being aggressive trying to put the game away.

When you have a rookie quarterback it’s standard to have them do less instead of more. It took a few games but CJ proved he could do more and in games when Slowik trusted him you can tell.

The people who were calling for Slowik’s heads at the beginning of the year were always stupid. Without a doubt, he’s had some questionable games and he definitely is the biggest reason we lost to the Panthers and possibly even the Falcons.

However, he calls up great plays most of the time and he constantly spaces out the receivers which gives Stroud plenty of options. I’ve seen some film breakdowns, and especially for the Bengals game, Stroud constantly has multiple choices to find an open man.

My issue with him is that he gets way too cute sometimes, and some of our worst plays this season have also resulted from his play calling. Every game, at least once or twice like clockwork, he will scheme up a boneheaded play that ends up costing us points or a drive.

I think he’s doing a good job, and he will definitely be a target later on for a HC position. If he keeps improving and if we retain for a few more years, this offense with better weapons can legitimately be historic.
