with the pacers win today, i heard the announcers mention that they have secured a spot in the knockouts. however, if we were to hypothetically to win against the hawks by at least 11 and the pacers lose to the pistons, would that not mean that we would be tied record wise but ahead by the “diff”?

I think it’s cos regardless if they tie against the Cavs record, they beat the Cavs so they get the tiebreaker.

For the Cavs to make the tournament, they have to win against the hawks by a large margin (for the point differential advantage), Miami loses at least one game and have a lower point differential, and whoever is second place in group C to also have a low differential (in case they also go 3-1)
