it can either be imagined (such as when i was a young child and i was playing Minecraft, i was terrified of caves at one point because i thought that non-zombie pigmen were in there and they would be scary enemies!), or real (weird glitches?)

My friend and I were in the nether, and we found a portal that led to a random cave with no sign of life in it. We started another world a month or two later, and the same thing happened.
Idk if this is relevant or not but in my old world I had a parrot in my base. On the other side of the wall where the parrot was, there was a dark cave I’d never been inside of. Every now and then I’d randomly hear zombie noises or think a creeper got in somehow. Always scared me.
