Like the title says, I think Vezenkov should’ve gotten more playing time in the second half last night. It felt like one of those nights, similar to last season, where the team struggled with three-point shots, and the defense suffered. I know Vezenkov isn’t great on defense, but I’ve been pretty impressed with how he positions himself and grabs rebounds. There’s definitely room for improvement with the Kings, but I believe Sasha has a bright future with the team.
Or slide Monk as the starting 2 so Sasha can be the first guy off the bench. That would mean Davion will be the primary playmaker though which right now is really not a good idea.
That idea also doesn’t improve the starting unit’s defense, which is why Duarte stealing the spot is far more likely.
It would be interesting to see him out there with the starters in place of HB. I think he and Keegan could be devastating as a shooting combo, working off Fox and Domas. HB could be great off the bench as a “glue guy” who can get buckets and fouls when the 2nd unit needs it.
