For me are Mortal Kombat for fun combat and Hogwarts Legacy, I like spells, flying, fighting, world but story is mediocre at best.

Vanquish, a stupid plot where you fight giant robots and russians while sliding around with jet boots.

Paraworld a great dinosaur-age Age Of Empires game with the plot of a Saturday Morning cartoon.

Sunset Overdrive The plot was an excuse to fly around the city and beat up orange soda zombies.

Dying Light 2. The parkour is great but I could care less about Lawan, Hakon, or Mia.

    Warhammer: Chaosbane

It’s combat is super fun, like a different Diablo/Path of Exile but the story was laughably atrocious lol

Cyberpunk 2077’s main story is it’s weakest aspect, but it’s lore, side stories, DLC, and gameplay is pretty great now.

Dark messiah of might and magic, oh the difficult between a whiny emotional dependent bitch vs a succubus who loves you unconditionally. At least kicking dudes of a cliff is great fun

Cyberpunk. Not the story but the ending. Cause no matter what choices you make during the gameplay and what ending you get, you’ll cry. I hate this game cause every time I finished it I cried and it made fucking sad.

    Legend of Zelda: BotW/TotK

Look, I’m sorry. I know it’s a hot take, but the story is just so so so shallow. The dialogue and voice acting is…a topic for another day.

But godDAMMIT is the gameplay so fucking fun and good! The world is so IMPRESSIVELY optimized and crammed full of secrets that reward curiosity and adventure. I fucking love it.

Frankly speaking, I don’t think the story takes away from the games, but, at least to me, it feels like the story/writing took a backseat to gameplay and fun factor (which is totally fine, don’t get me wrong).

If my memory serves me correctly, then I’d say Wind Waker and Twilight Princess had pretty strong stories. But it has been quite some time

Hitman WOA had a weak story in my opinion but the gameplay was extremely good.
