For me, I wanted to have a second team to root for besides my local team since my dad liked two teams. That holiday, I got Backyard Football with Donovan McNabb on the cover and it happened to include the Texans. I loved the logo and the team ever since, and over the years grew to love the underdog that the Texans seem to always find themselves to be.
While I haven’t gone to a game yet, I plan to soon. I’ve only heard legendary things about the food outside of the stadium and the loud fans.
Is anyone else a long-distance fan?
I’m a Bengals fan but band wagon Texans fan this year after Burrow went down. Rooting for them because I enjoy seeing under dog teams do well. I know first hand being Bengals fan years of winning only couple games a year and never winning play off games. Always good to see when team that has had years of struggles start turning it around and I love seeing these young guys going out there making impact year one!
I’m Canadian myself, I got hooked on dhop highlights.
I’m long distance cause of the Marines. Born and raised in Houston living in Cali.
Straight up - they were just so bad and I felt bad for them so I would cheer for them and well, here we are 🤷🏻♀️
From austin, didn’t like how everyone supported the cowboys
Live in Europe. They won the first game I watched. The playoff win over the Connor Cook led Oakland Raiders.
Lufkin, so right down the road (by Texas standards at least) and Arian Foster. I didn’t really get into the nfl until around 2010, 2011, and Foster was just incredible. Before I knew it I was hooked
Because the name says TEXANS , and we are Texans. For me I’m from Houston and love the Oilers and Texans.
Lived in Michigan in 2002 and was just starting to get into football. I wasn’t interested in being a Lions fan.
Turned on ESPN, and they mentioned that this was the Texans’ inaugural year.
It was technically my inaugural year as a football fan so I decided to pick them as my team.
I was born in San Angelo, Texas in 1995 and I grew up with my dad being a Bucs fan and moving a lot because he was on the Air Force. So by the time I really started getting into football I loved that amazing defense and Mike Alstott. But I wanted my own team to root for because when my dad was a kid the Bucs just became a franchise and they were god awful his whole childhood and in 2002 the Texans played the cowboys in their inaugural NFL game and I told my dad whoever wins this game I’m going to be a fan of forever because of me being born in Texas. Long story short thank god the Texans won, and the Bucs won the SB that same season.
Born and raised in Vegas, no local team as a kid. My Dad and older brothers lived in Houston prior to Vegas and I was always a Rockets fan as a kid, so it just made sense to follow the Texans
Upvoting for visibility and just to read everyone’s stories which is always really cool. Born and raised Houstonian so I’ve always supported our teams.
West Virginia right here ✋🏻 idk honestly when i first started getting into the nfl it was their inaugural season and i watched the game where they beat the cowboys which is my brothers favorite and it just grew from there
I actually live in Amarillo Texas and for the inaugural game of the Texans I was working for a local AM radio station. I was tasked with broadcasting the game locally and I listen to the entire thing. My entire family loves the cowboys and I hate the cowboys. For the Texans very first game they beat the cowboys and I fell in love.
I was an Oilers fan up until they left and came right back when the Texans joined the league. I’ve been a fan of Houston since I was a kid.
