They said this year that the removal of Battlepass would enable them to deliver more content.

They’re missed their first “deadline” already by delaying the post TI update that they kept teasing into 2024. This will likely just be combined with the Taskmaster update now.

The TI compendium was a flop and people expected content after it ended but that is being delayed.

Many people play dota and a fair amount of them purchase cosmetic content, its a money printing machine so long as you actually do it but Valve has shot themselves in the leg by not releasing it on a more consistant basis.

It kinda looks like they chose to not re-hire any cosmetics artists this year. Minimum effort on their part. Anniversary sets were sets that already existed in the game - they just changed the colour schemes. Same for Crimson chest - all sets were from last year but given a red repaint.

The legibility of this spreadsheet is legit shit, but after parsing it myself, I have no choice but to tell Valve that they’re doing a pretty good job, all things considered.
