  • The Cardinals are bad but they just paid Murray and Murray isn’t the worst QB out of the Bears, Patriots and Cardinals, i think that the Cardinals would love to draft MHJ who is likely to still be there at 3 if the Bears and Pats draft before them.

The Panthers (whose 1st round pick the Bears own) have no incentive to tank unless they want to see the Bears draft a QB who may end up being better than Young for the next ten years, they just fired their coach so maybe that lights a fire under them and they can win a game or two.

The Panthers have 1 win and the Cardinals and the Patriots have two. I don’t know what happens if the Panthers win one game and the Patriots lose out but all of these teams can afford to win at least one game and still be picking in the top three.

I don’t see a situation where the Patriots are picking in the top 3 and don’t pick a QB if Maye or Williams is available or they don’t pick MHJ if he falls them them at either 2 or 3. I think there is an outside possibility that Williams falls down people’s big board or that the Patriots are spooked by William’s attitude or mental weakness and if that is the case he definitely won’t play very well here if hes coming to the same situation Mac is in.

Personally, i hope the Patriots are able to draft Drake Maye and if not, take MHJ. I am extremely skeptical of Williams and if he has any serious red flags during evaluation, i would certainly trade back, get more picks and then take Left tackle.

i used to think this way as well until just recently, it really comes down to role execution at different stages in the game. As a support, you will be creating a safe zone for your cores as well engaging in fights early and often. At my current bracket i usually win the laning phase with proper warding, pulling and ganking, all while giving my core enough distance to get full xp most of the time.

Until you go against another talented support you never realize how much the finer points of this gameplay is neglected and how much it affects the trajectory of the cores in the lane both on your side and the other. A 3 who is almost completely shut down in lane will have to focus on recovery when they should be focusing on mid game activities, i’ve had so many blowout wins not only because my 1 is so far ahead, but because of a clean shift from laning to aggressive ganking on the enemy’s side of the map.

I never used to play support at all, now i main hard support any game i can, my win rate has gone way up.

  • This staff cannot draft on offense, this pick is too important for our current front office to be picking it.

We’re at the most basic, most undeveloped level of talent right now, our front office has not shown the vision or skill to identify the correct players on offense to make this team better, who ever they bring in as GM has to have a multi-year vision.

The good news is that we’re likely to have high enough draft picks and enough money to significant improve our foundation, but it is crucial to get the right GM and Coach so that this opportunity is not squandered.

Im concerned that Ryland missed that kick but also happy he missed it. Losing is in the team’s best interest long term right now, if BB doesnt understand that he should quit.

Quite literally all roads lead back to BB when it comes down to the failures in drafting, coaching and performance of the people he drafted or signed in free agency, infact there isnt anyone else more personally responsible for their team’s failures in the entire league than BB right now.

  • I’m not saying Mac isn’t bad, he clearly isn’t very good i said as much. You seem to want to put all the blame on him though and that is something i just cannot do.

Mac’s blocking has been poor, the receivers are even worse than last year, we’ve have several drafts where we didn’t pick up anyone at all on offense in the first three rounds or those picks have been busts or mediocre thusfar.

Mac deserves his share of the blame, but he didn’t put this team together, Belichick did.

  • He may not be the ultimate solution but he can be a bridge. I think it behooves the Patriots to get the best player available and that may be an OT or WR by the time the Patriots are drafting.

If Mac doesnt improve with better pieces around him you’ll be right back here drafting in the top ten next year, but to be completely honest, that wouldnt be the worst thing long term. The Patriots are so devoid of talent offensively that i cant imagine them turning this around in a single year.

  • The offensive line is such a mess, we’ve made numerous picks there including a few high picks and its still poor. This mock once again doesnt address that very well.

You may be able to fix the QB position, the Offensive line and the WR group with one draft but you are unlikely to solve all three.

If you get a top 3 pick you should pick either Maye, Williams or Harrison, outside of that you’d be much better off drafting an OT and then getting a WR or QB somewhere down the line.

Everyone wants a QB but if you bring them into this team as it is currently constructed you are going to ruin them just like they did with Mac.

  • This is what i was trying to say, but it seems like most people who are looking at this thread are overreacting to the fact that i included Joe Thuney and Sony Michel in the list of people drafted when my argument was the poor performance of the Patriot’s ability to draft in it’s entirety within the timeframe.

Some picks turned out better than others, but those are exceptions.

The Patriots have shown a high degree of ineptitude in their ability to even maintain their level of talent through the draft, expecting this same organization to actually improve offensively via the draft is a far taller task, personally, i doubt they are up to the task.
