Wanna play spiderman, halo , god of war and Forza horizon, and anything emulated on a single console? With minimal technical know how?
Such a smart move by Valve. They’ve converted me into a pc gamer first, and a steam gamer as well.
To me the steam deck feels like a console that’s prehacked. You have all your normal s*** and game mode but then when you go to desktop mode you have the Homebrew channel which is called the Discovery store Plus you can sideload things which is where you download something not from the discover store.
Steam has always been able to turn your PC into a console Well at least since they introduced big picture mode and they decided what if we went the other way around Make a console that will allow you to turn into a PC?
I only major complaint with the steam deck is that sometimes I can’t get a game to run no matter which version of proton I select.
Then you realize how tech illiterate some users are that they can’t even navigate a file explorer.
Coming from a ps5, absolutely loved its exclusives but steam deck is my fav console of all time. It does what I wished the switch could have
No judgement but if you’re buying a Steam Deck to play triple A modern games you’re really missing out. PS5 or Series X/S are a superior experience.
If that’s your cup of tea that’s fine, but the deck shines for playing indie games IMO. And emulation, playing the old Fire Emblem games for the first time is amazing.
Games I always want to play but not worth taking the living room TV, no problem play on the deck kids get TV.
If not by exclusives it might stand alone be better than any console
Better controls, more games, better prices, better options, more customization etc etc.
You can argue against performance but If most people play on Nintendo switch they cannot complain IMO
lol I got my console gaming brother one in April when they were on a good sale, I don’t think he’s turned it on once.
I hope so. I just got the OLED version. I mostly play console, ps, Xbox, and Nintendo. Hopefully, running games on the deck isn’t hard, and it’s a smooth experience
Yes it is. I’m a console gamer setting up my SD OLED right now. Sold my PS5 to my friend.
SteamDeck is my entry into PC gaming and now I’m thinking of actually building a gaming pc
Been console forever and my deck is arriving today. Sold all my console stuff to fund it sooooo they converted me too!
The steam Deck ripped me away from my gaming PC. That poor PC has only been booted up a few times since I got my steam deck. The PC can push any game but I just don’t want to sit at my desk anymore.
Console Gamers in The PC Space: Hey, I blindly followed a guide, having no comprehension of what it was telling me, and renamed .local to local, now my Deck is dead, please help. :(
