I’ve seen way too many people getting their hopes up for something that just may not happen. Unless Kenny was doing precisely what Canada said and scrapping plays just to prove a point, we’re going to need an off season to see any real changes. An interim OC is likely going to use a similar playbook as Canada, so without a long-term replacement it’s going to be the same old story.

Kenny needs to get more comfortable in the pocket, and his center, guards, and tackles need to help more in preserving it. With that, Warren and Pickens have been half in half out for the better part of this season. That, however, doesn’t negate the fact Kenny can’t make a completion for more than 20 yards with how conservative they’ve been playing. He needs to be willing to take a risk for a good pass. O-Line is generally just a mess. I’ve watched him play since he was at Pitt and I know he has the ability, but I can acknowledge he may very well not be our guy.

Overall, he’ll need to unlearn whatever crap Canada put in his head, and KP has a lot of work to do to be a franchise quarterback. However, what I will say is too many people want a Mahomes and don’t want to allow time for development. I always use Bradshaw as an example, it took him a good three or four years in the league to really step up. Not every guy is gonna come straight out of college and be a beast.

Let’s claw our way through the rest of this season and see what happens, and if no improvement comes by next year then have the discussion about a new QB.

He won’t immediately gain the ability to read the field, but hopefully the offense will do less of the blatantly stupid play calls.
