21st in points per game. which is an improvement. Last season we were 29th.

but we are last in FG% at 39.7%. last season it was 46% (15th).

Let’s look at what Nick Nurse is doing with his bench this season.

last in the league in points per game. FG% of 44.3% (22nd in the league).

You can say we are prioritizing development. which is true.

but this season our bench is at 89.9 minutes per game (total of bench players minutes). that puts us at 11th. which is interesting because several developing teams play their bench less than the raptors do:

blazers: 88.4

hornets: 84.3

pistons: 83.4

rockets: 80.7

imo Achiuwa (19.8 mpg), McDaniels (9.1 mpg), Dick (15.1 mpg) should have to earn their minutes (which so far they are not).

our whole starting 5 should play a couple more minutes than they currently do.

Ok, so our starting lineup plays… let’s say 4 more minutes a piece. Where does that leave us?

I don’t see playing the starters a little bit more as winning us many more games than we have so far.

The only three guys on this entire roster who might be part of the next great Raptors roster are Scottie, Dick, and OG if he isn’t traded and sticks around through a rebuild. Jury is out on Koloko because I think there’s a chance his medical issues may in fact derail his entire career.

When the nearest competitive version of your team only includes 3 current players in this way, you have to tear it down, you just do. I truly don’t think Masai and Bobby are the right guys for the job anymore if they can’t see that.

You can’t use them as future trade pieces if the rest of the league never sees them play
