A while back, I asked what book/s were still stuck on your current reading list, and I enjoyed the comments; I even got a few books added to my TBR pile for next year (tysm!). This time, what book did you read that was such a page-turner, you didn’t even realize you were on its last chapter?
Mine was Silence of the Lambs. I read it in my early teens, and back then, I was really into suspense/crime genres. Also, I’ve seen the movie beforehand (which I love!), and noticing the difference in storytelling between the two just piqued my interest. Before I knew it, I finished the book and started on Hannibal.
Anything Ellie Dean. War trauma on every page.
Midnight Library of course by Matt Haig, a tear jerker with a very active ending.
Now I am reading The Girl, The Cat and The Forest, another war tear jerker. It can be read in a day it is so good.
I just started my first Marie Lacrosse cause the covers are stunning and I love period war romance. It is called Storm over the Fields and it is almost 600 pages but it reads so smooth
Just polished off the Hunchback of the Notre Dame, again a 600 page brick but so fun to read. Takes a bit getting into though, it’s archaic and cynical.
