Has anyone here imported a 911 from europe to us before? I am interested in a 993 in germany to import into the us. Just trying to roughly gauge what the process looks like. Being that it’s a 25+ year old car, I don’t suspect it will be difficult to import and register with paperwork and whatnot?

I’ve imported three Porsches from Europe. You already seem to know that you need an exclusion to do this and you have one with the 25+ year rule. You file paperwork with the EPA, they send you approval, you work with an importer to ship your car. In my cases I was importing race cars but same basic idea, I just use the race car exclusion.
Did you have a company do all of the paperwork/importing/shipping stuff for you? Basically everything?
