First thing that comes to mind is Watson from a Sherlock Holmes videogame. Was meant to just stay close to Sherlock, but ended up working like a weeping angel. Any other good examples of things that weren’t meant to give the spooks but ended up doing so anyway?

    The dead eyed npcs and lifeless conversations and dialogue of the elder scrolls franchise. Too many are uncanny, especially Oblivion.

    Lots of Zelda stuff borders between weird/creepy/funny and its hard to tell when it’s intentional or not, especially in the darker titles like Majora’s Mask and Twilight Princess. Like Twilight Princess was intentionally creepy in tone, but were the little kids supposed to be? And Majora’s Mask is all over the place…
