I thought i was gonna be mad how they left the mid season finale and I loved it.
This show always comes up all aces.
Feels Mark held his own a bit better against Viltrumites, but the outcome was still the same, the fight scenes were great and brutal.
kinda implies how strong he is too. he was holding his own against a clearly experienced warrior there.
Can’t keep to the source material smh
This episode was awesome! Glad to see the main Viltrumite trio (Lucan, Kregg, and Thula) appear. I also like how they added an original, new Viltrumite for the show.
How many episodes before Omni man comes back do we think
Honestly I had a little trouble with the animation, I definitely didn’t find it as sharp as S1E8 and, maybe, even S1E4. I saw a few mistakes here and there, and the fight wasn’t as exciting as I was hoping, really liked Allen’s better. But eventually I realised my expectations were disproportionate for a small studio I heard they were, so after rewatching it a little I ended up enjoying it more. This chapter had a lot of good character development and I’m enjoying very much where this is heading. I wonder how are Nolan and Debbie gonna make up again, how are they going to get back together seeing that this Debbie has way more depth to her now. I wonder why did they dice to use Thula here and in the previous chapter rather than that Viltrumite dude from before, maybe they’ll give her a little more attention than in the comic? I don’t know. I liked this chapter, pretty exciting.
Some mixed feelings for me. They expanded on Nolan’s post-earth journey and it was amazing. Loved just about every addition until the fight started.
But I had bigger expectations for the fight, especially considering how they expanded on the “fight” between Nolan and Mark at the end of S1. It was definitely solid and there were cool moments but it didn’t have the wow factor I hoped for some reason.
Also I got annoyed every time they cut away from Thraxa. Obviously, the TV Show medium requires it but it definitely took away from the tension. I don’t have any problems with the Debbie and Eve scenes in this episode but I would have appreciated less intercutting between A, B and C plots.
35 mins in and I kinda don’t like how they did the Thraxa arc tbh. They cut so many great interactions and moments I thought was important for Mark’s development in the comics. And everything went too quickly
i liked the episode overall but it was hyped up so much that i kinda expected more?. but then again i did read the comics so for only sho watchers i am sure this was amazing
So what happens now in Episodes 5-8? Angstrom Levy stuff? Man I am least intersted in that. Need Viltrumites stuff more.
hi guys sorry where is a good place to get these comics? I need more invincible in my life
I haven’t read much of the comic, but when I saw the guy get his get slashed and stabbed I know I had seen someone else survive much worse, so him surviving was cool
How come King Mauler didn’t see that coming since he should have the memory of killing himself from a previous cloning process
Brain damage from his wounds? Arrogance?
I think it’s the latter.
kinda disappointed the cut out the line about Mark not having to push himself before so that’s why he found it so hard, like him flying and saying he feels tired (i guess they kinda did it but in a different way)
They could acknowledge it in episode 5
I loved getting to see what happened to Nolan in-between Earth and Thraxia and his depression arc. It made it feel more genuine. Also how funny that he also saved Oliver’s mom like he saved Debbie.
They adapted the hug well but also included Mark being way more conflicted about everything, which felt more natural and also made when he realized Nolan had changed and helped his father understand he’d gained empathy all the more powerful.
They adapted the kiss panel! Actually some of the fight scenes seemed ripped from actual comic fights.
Oliver is an adorable baby. I can’t wait to see cartoon-only fans get to see him when he’s such a brat.
I like how Eve’s first instinct was to text Mark to talk to him and just happened to run into Amber and William. Their friendship does feel more genuine here. Also Eve’s reaction when Amber said “he’s lucky he’s cute” was like an affirmative “YEAH, he’s cute.”
I love getting a Donald sub-plot where he finds out he’s part cyborg now.
Wow, they did the whole Mauler Twin thing in one episode.
No montage of Amber struggling with Mark’s absence, huh?
Phil LaMaar as Lucan, awesome, though Lucan did put on some pounds here. I guess all the better for his guts to spew out.
Developing Mark’s willingness to kill where releasing himself more helps him be a better fighter, and he actually holds his own better but that’ll end up coming back to bite him against Angstrom because he’ll be used to fighting Viltrumites.
Art! Man it was nice to see him. I wonder if this “what was the real Nolan?” will carry on when they finally reunite.
Thula is totally going walk that off, right? Right?
I wonder where they’re going with this new version of Eve’s storyline. She moved in with her parents before she got together with Mark, unlike in the comic, and she’s in a much more vulnerable and depressed state now than she was in the comics (really the most depressed she was over Mark and Amber being together). I wonder if Mark and Eve are going to bond over their mutual issues and support each other through this and that’s how they fall deeper in love this time.
Debbie cutting off Cecil felt more powerful here. I do wonder how she’ll react to Oliver now.
“Read my books Mark” - Man, they really made it obvious Nolan based his adventures off his own life, complete with him legit being on the cover. And teasing Space Racer and the creatures. Too bad Debbie gave away the books, but Mark will read them from Art anyways.
I love how they brought Clancy Brown back as Kregg (whose name I now know how to pronounce). I hope we get the scene of him addressing all his lovers.
Nolan and Debbie both considering suicide was sad. They both loved each other and really didn’t like the idea of facing the consequences of Nolan’s actions. I’m glad Debbie didn’t go through with hers and I’m sad Nolan was going to with his
