  • I like the idea that when Mark stops holding back he becomes a significantly more effective fighter. But I don’t like the idea that he basically neutralized a seasoned Viltrumite warrior after he stopped holding back. He only “lost” the fight because he hesitated to kill her.

It’s just poor planning by the writers. It will only lessen the impact of some big moments in the future. He should have categorically lost that 1v1 and shouldn’t have reached a position where he even had the chance to kill her.

It’s not the end of the world but if this is the direction they are going in then Mark should never struggle against regular villains ever again. It would be inconsistent.

  • Some mixed feelings for me. They expanded on Nolan’s post-earth journey and it was amazing. Loved just about every addition until the fight started.

But I had bigger expectations for the fight, especially considering how they expanded on the “fight” between Nolan and Mark at the end of S1. It was definitely solid and there were cool moments but it didn’t have the wow factor I hoped for some reason.

Also I got annoyed every time they cut away from Thraxa. Obviously, the TV Show medium requires it but it definitely took away from the tension. I don’t have any problems with the Debbie and Eve scenes in this episode but I would have appreciated less intercutting between A, B and C plots.
