I lost count on how many 3rd/4th and 1 or less were fails because they didn’t even attempt a shove. Not only that, a traditional QB sneak was tried and failed, I just forget which game (turkey and wine creates foggy memory).
Dallas capitalized on a Washington failed 4th and short in Commanders territory. When the fail occurred, I turned it off.
Point of the post, I’m sooo glad we can confidently go into 3rd/4th and 1 and get it unless a big fail occurs with execution (fumbling or tripping on a fake sneak run).
Yes, but despite that traditional sneaks still convert at, like, 80% compared to about 50% overall for all plays(if I remember correctly), which I believe includes those sneak conversions in the total. Teams should probably just line up and sneak all of the time. Seems they’re overthinking it and psyching themselves out more than their opponents.
