It honestly depends on who you ask, for me right now it’s closer to masters than to Slams.
Olympics itself is a huge event, it’s near pinnacle in badminton, table tennis, shooting events, swimming but a joke in football world because of the under age 23 rule. In tennis, it was a 750 event according to atp and now it’s 0 point. But ask someone like Novak and he’ll say it’s the equivalent of Grand Slam. I personally love the olympics and its rising importance, I think it’s important for the sport of tennis to grow. Hopefully atp awards points for it soon too, don’t know why they stopped it.
The Olympic Gold Medalist used to be awarded 750 points when the Olypmpics were under the ATP/WTA tours.
It was between an ATP/WTA 500 and a Masters 1000 event. Until 2019 it was not even considered a big title.
It’s worth 4 slams so NADAL= GOAT
