I have been playing ow2 almost everyday since it came out (i did not play ow1). I main sojourn who Im sure you know is a very flexible character if you’re good. I hit my rails and i consistently carry games (yes i know thats become a cliche to say that). Even though i have put hundreds of hours into the game i cannot get out of the metal ranks no matter how well i do because there are simply too many variables to push my winrate past 55-60%. As time has gone on the devs just seem to make the matchmaking worse and the game more and more chaotic and unbalanced to the point where i feel as if the game has been intentionally designed to stop the player from having any agency in the game unless they have actual pros coaching them to become god-tier players. I mean it only makes sense that the reasons why they never seem to make the right choices for balance patch after patch isnt because they are incompetent but because they want you to pour countless hours into the game. Forever chasing a fruitless goal that you will never achieve so that you will be so invested in the game that things like skins and whatnot become relevant to you. Maybe this isnt news to anyone but ive had enough and i will be moving onto different games
If you are good enough you will climb. There’s a lot of bronze to gm video that prove this too.
I start in gold and end up as diamond in a single season. Sometimes even reach master.
If you keep blaming your teammate you’ll never move up unless you really are just that good.
Those videos are of course pro players. I can do placements and reach diamond or maybe masters (which i have never reached) if i really tried but like i said i feel like i would need coaching or to play the game a very unreasonable amount to do so
