Even though we’re in a weird spot pick and age-wise, it feels like some kind of move would need to be made to keep our players happy?
We got players like CamJ and Mikal in their primes and roleplayers like Royce and DFS in the beginning of their 30’s.
It seems like they want to compete at some level and while Ben is the big question mark it feels like we’re just wasting time here, also not owning our picks for the next few years.
Personal preference would be moving a good player and assets for a great player. Consolidate talent. Zero idea of how the trade would work, but something like Cam Johnson, DFS/Royce, and picks for a stud guard. Donovan Mitchell if he doesn’t want to stay in Cleveland? Mikal can play with any star in the league, as can Clax. I personally don’t think Cam Thomas is gonna be a superstar (but I’m not hear to crush dreams), but I think he’ll be a great secondary scoring option.
Agreed
If Cam Thomas is the real deal this team is one star away from contention.
There is also the option of using free agency if we can use assets to dump Ben’s contract into some team’s cap space.
Why are you in a rush to trade assets for a small guard than couldn’t bring 2 Franchise a championship or a finals run but writing off what Cam can not be.
