I’m getting my first Steam Deck for Christmas and suffering from analysis paralysis on which games to get first lol (especially as I’ll have to be more limited on what I spend than I’d like), so I was curious what AAA games you’ve played on the SD that you enjoyed the most so far.
The one I’d really love to play is Baldur’s Gate 3 but I‘ve seen a lot of mixed reactions on how well it plays on the SD so I’d probably wait to play it especially as I’m not very technologically literate lol. But some others I’m considering are Cyberpunk 2077, Witcher 3, Elden Ring, Skyrim, Fallout 4, RDR2, and Sekiro
Been loving Metro Exodus. Getting average to 40-50 FPS, with worst case scenario around the 30 mark. Runs really well on the deck and is so much fun.
I have played Elden Ring and Sekiro. Both are fun, but Sekiro can be challenging without learning few mechanics really well early in the game.
It’s not technically a AAA but Hi Fi Rush has inserted itself into my GotY list after finally getting to it on the deck. Runs great and it’s an eye melter on the OLED.
Baldurs Gate 3 easily
Doom Ethernal played glorious, also Metro Exodus
Dave the diver is a Gem. Dredge is cool too.
Vampire survivors is a Steam Deck must have. Brotato fits in the same line as Vampire survivors.
Tony hawk pro skater 1+2 is quite good
Slay the spire is awesome.
Rimworld works good. Project zomboid is alright.
I’m having so much fun playing Elden Ring on the deck that i abandonned the game on my Xbox series X. My main chars are on my deck, and i play in bed, in the kitchen, in the sofa and docked on the TV. Even with the lower performance, it’s fine.
How does rdr2 run honestly? Under 40fps I probably wont play it
The CoD franchise
GTA V and the Arkham series have been a blast.
Def GTA IV, the performance is really stable at 60Fps
Jumped back into FF7R with my Oled deck after not playing it for a year or so and holy shit. At low graphic settings it’s near 60FPS with beautiful HDR visuals and quiet fan noise. Also recommend the mod to remove dynamic resolution. Going to play the whole game now, feels like magic.
Iam currently playing the witcher 3 again on the deck (and going for all achievements) it rungs read even on relatively hight settings with some tinkering (also has a pre set specifically for the deck)
