The weight can be an issue after long usage. If you are laying in bed, you can use small pillow to raise it higher, so that your hands don’t need to support the weight.
Shouldn’t you be in 3.5.7 ? If you are in latest version, may be try to run sd card (check/repair) option, if you use sd card. Also, make proton experimental as default and see if that fixes the issue.
Ya, I was at least happy to see they moved lb and rb buttons to joystick (as future owners will not have this problem anymore). I had to send my steam deck for repairs as I could not get daughter board from ifixit.
I am also having audio related issues. When I plug in my dock (with external monitor attached), it switches to monitor audio. The monitor does not have proper audio. So, I switch to speaker, however SD does not play audio from speakers. This problem exists only in gaming mode. In desktop mode it works fine. Used to work previously. If I disconnect the dock, audio seems to come back up from the deck speakers (although sometime, audio driver crashes) and I need to restart to get the audio at all.
Depends. If you want to get the best device at the time, go for 512 OLED. On the other hand, since you already have other gaming devices, if you just want a companion device, go for 64 G and upgrade the SSD. Performance wise 64 G should be fine, it’s only the screen difference and battery mostly. If you don’t care about these things 64 G is absolutely fine.
I have played Elden Ring and Sekiro. Both are fun, but Sekiro can be challenging without learning few mechanics really well early in the game.
Waiting for 3.5 as well. I had installed it before, but reverted back because of some input issues. The color change makes it so much better. Was hoping it was already in beta, but looks like it is still not there yet.
Mine fell while headphone was connected to 3.5 mm jack, broke the holder in audio board, and rb was little stiff after the fall. Had to send for repair, as I did not find any parts online. Also, my lb was little unresponsive because of Sekiro. So they fixed both bumpers and audio board. I think in the new design, lb and rb buttons (internal) are part of joystick, which will be convenient to fix.
I think current implementation is only in game mode (gamescope). I believe KDE team was also working on bringing HDR. May be that will be implemented before valve releases steam os generally.
Have you used cryoutilities in the past ? Try using cryo utilities to reduce swap file size.
I would rather jump through the hoops to install the graphics drivers in Mint, Debian or Ubuntu than to run something that might be less stable. Although, I don’t use any of above distros (not for work, so I am fine).
Use ppa or some source for graphics driver. Otherwise install minimal apps from repos. Use flatpak and AppImage when possible. For development, recommend distrobox, as you may have to install tons of packages that you don’t need for functional distro.
Currently Lies of P. Played a lot of Elden Ring and some Sekiro. I came from a bad laptop, so don’t care too much about FPS.
