Hey fellow Skoldiers, myself, my wife, and sister will be joining the crowd to watch the Passtronaut take it to Da Bears on Monday! We are very excited but it’s our first time visiting US Bank for all of us. Looking for quick tips on:
Best way to get to and from US Bank? (Staying a bit north of Uptown) Where to grab a drink (or three) before the game? When to grab our seats to see any pre-game activities that are worth our time? Anything that we should do in or around the stadium (beyond watching the game of course)?
Pumped to join yall, thanks for any guidance you may have!
I’ve parked at the mall and taken the train to the stadium. That’s a good way.
I’d try to take the light rail or some form of public transportation. You won’t have issues ubering to the game for a good price but after the game, the prices are absurd. You will either have to bite the bullet or wait for quite awhile at a bar or something to let the prices go down.
Make sure you are in your seats at least 20 min before kick off. Really cool pregame presentation. Especially for Monday night games. I’d head into the stadium at least 35 min before kick to get through lines and find your seats.
Enter through the Legacy gates if you want to have the coolest entrance into the stadium (Vikings ship, pregame festivities, fanfare etc.). These are the large swiveling doors. Otherwise see which gate is closest to your seats and enter that one.
For before the game, I tailgate so I’ll be in the quarterback lot. There’s plenty of food and drinks to go around but I would definitely bring some of your own drinks just in case.
If you aren’t wanting the cold tailgate scene, plenty of bars near the stadium within a couple blocks but I’d get there at least 1.5 hours before the game to get a spot for a few drinks.
Lastly, I always say this, EMRACE the atmosphere. It’s an incredible venue to watch football and our fans are so passionate. Help us force some false starts and delay of games by getting as loud as possible.
What are you serving? Ribeye on a griddled roll with roasted corn on the cob would be cool. How can we hook up?
Thank you for the response! I plan on not being able to talk by Tuesday so no worries, will be embracing the experience 😀
Love to hear that, happy to have ya!
Just park. You’ll pay $10 - $15 at the closest ramps. Have your drinks and maybe get cheeseburgers somewhere else before the game, but get there an hour before kickoff so you can do a once around to check it all out. Night is a different but equally as cool. Make some fucking noise! Da Bears…pft.
Thanks for the comment, planning on losing my voice Monday!
