Anyone feel this way? The beginning of the Mahomes era was filled with talent left over from the previous era with a big name guy added in (Frank Clark). Tyreek, Kelce and Chris were the best players on the team when Mahomes was drafted. They were the center pieces.

Now it seems like that’s being phased out. Tyreek is gone, Kelce is starting to decline a bit and is talking about retirement and Chris is gonna be traded bc he won’t budge from his asking price, he’ll be 30 and Mahomes will be extremely expensive starting next year. Long story short, $57 million from Mahomes + (at least) $20 million from Chris= $77 million from just 2 guys?? No way is that sustainable IMO.

I think phase 2 is starting to be in place. IMO it’s comprised of these young players: Nick Bolton, Trent McDuffie and George Karlaftis on defense. On offense it’s obviously Mahomes and…possibly Rice and maybe Pacheco (not sure we would pay him a 2nd contract).

Feels like now we need that receiver/TE of the future and will attack it in the Spring.

I think we are set up really well for the most part. Just need to keep drafting well, but this next year on offense. What do you guys think?

Believe it or not, FAU’s average pressure rate this season, which I calculated as the ratio of total pressures to total pass rush snaps, is 7.6%, which isn’t that far behind Karlaftis’ average pressure rate last season of 9.3%. Now Karlaftis is at 16%, which probably explains in part why FAU hasn’t been on the field a whole lot, but while I probably agree that FAU didn’t need to go in the first round, I can see him getting to the next level like Karlaftis did.

Danna has played pretty well and Chris Jones eats up significant snaps at DE (yes he’s a DT but he often plays outside). There’s just not enough edge snaps to go around for FAU.
