Hello,

I was thinking of getting a $100 Stanley J5C09D Jumper but realized that I really don’t need one of that strength lol they’re also quite heavy and I’d like to travel lighter if possible. I also heard that combo packs kinda suck (and that if I buy one, to use a lead acid battery model) and die within some years. Any truth to this? If combo packs are okay, im looking at the Stanley FATMAX J7CS, $76.

I already chose a tire compressor but yeah, I just need a jump starter for emergencies.

Keeping it charged wouldn’t be an issue (and I’d just leave it in the trunk for emergencies) but yea I’m leaning towards the solo air compressor and then just sticking with my cables. The combo packs are expensive and heavy, the lithium ones die and only last a few years etc etc. I’m just worried about a nightmare scenario on like a road trip or something where I’m in a low population area, but it’s unlikely.

Keeping it charged is an issue, if you just leave it in the trunk for emergencies…

Just sitting in the trunk does not maintain the battery.

      That’s the entire point…

If when you need it, it doesn’t “work”, because it doesn’t work like that, then that thing does not “work” for you, if your intention is to use it like that…

…I’m saying that I’d keep it charged. And after it’s full, it would get put in the trunk. Once it gets used or is getting below half, it would get charged. Not leaving it in the trunk indefinitely after purchase.
