Mine is that you have to buy certain transmogs in World of Warcraft and that you can’t earn them in-game. It’s really frustrating that certain looks are behind a pay-wall. What’s yours?

I dont deal with many games with microtransactions luckily since I largely play indies and Fighters (which usually just has DLC characters though that has pros and cons to it as well)

But by far the worst is My Hero Ultra Rumble locking characters behind the special pass and gacha. Both of which are terribly predatory, and also independent of each other.

For some reason, characters are locked behind 3 separate methods of unlocks and you cant get them EXCEPT by those methods. That means the characters locked behind Gacha CANNOT be gained outside the gacha. Also you get hero souls for Dupes, which you use to get a Hero ticket, which can buy a couple of other characters (again, via no other methods) so you need to grind the gacha to get them as well. To make this worse, the game has a completely separate points system from the hero souls; if theres someone on the gacha you want, you can spend points to get them. The issue? The gachas have time limits and those points will be taken away when the next ticket comes around. You’ll likely only gain enough points to earn a single character via dupes if you spent real money, meaning there is no way to reliably get any of the gacha characters without spending money

And dont think just because the “Special pass” is free and has no time limit that it isnt any less predatory. If you’re playing unranked matches, you can play for 3 hours and not go up a single tier on it. Theres 30 tiers on it, with 6 of those tiers having characters. VERY GOOD characters too. Like “you will enter the game and die immediately to Bakugou and Shoto cause the game gave them overpowered projectiles” strong. Granted, those two are tier 2 and 3, but thats still 10+ hours of playing unless you learn Ranked and Agencies give you more points but it will still take hours of grinding to get them. OR of course, just spend a little bit of money and get these god-tier characters right away. 2 tiers is about 6 bucks I think but they do this so you justify spending a little bit of money, so you dont mind spending a little bit more on the gacha. Then maybe a little bit more when you’re close to Tsuyu, Mr. Compress, Toga, and All Might whose a whopping Tier 30. Oh look at that. Pretty much everyone here is a suspiciously popular character? Who woulda thought.

The end result of ALL of this is that I legitimately cant take the game on good faith that they didnt make some characters broken on purpose so you’re encouraged to spend money. I can give games the benefit of the doubt if a DLC character ends up broken cause that can believably happen through random chance. This though? The monetization is so scummy, I legitimately cant trust they didnt make the characters busted on purpose, making deaths seem unfair, and leaving a bad taste in your mouth if you get carried.
