    This is why “they’re as strong as they need to be for the plot” just doesn’t work, because it creates big inconsistencies as these. Mark should’ve not been able to borderline beat Thula, someone as old and skillful as Nolan. That’s actually why I thought they rejuvenated that random viltrumite, so it’s more believable he doesn’t get pummeled by him, but now it’s worse lmao

    I believe it was implied (or maybe straight-up shown) that Thula needed several other Viltrumites to help her, and without them, her life would’ve been at Battle Beast’s command.

    I mean she looked scuffed up and bruised but considering we know what Viltrimites can take my bet is that moment it looked like Mark was going to kill her she was just playing possum to either get the opportunity to stab Mark and/or gauge Mark’s ruthlessness to see if he’d be a worth addition to the Empire. Especially because they need Mark since Nolan has to be executed for being a traitor.

    I actually think the opposite. Mark didnt beat the shit out of them, if Nolan wasnt OP, they both would die.

    And the reason why Mark was able to keep up with the fight later was simple, Nolan says it outloud. Mark isnt a viltrumite, he doesnt fight to kill. He fights expecting the other side give up. So when Nolan gave him some Goku speech, he just fought for his life instead of trying to protect his enemies too.

    And also there is one other reason too but that would be a spoiler.
