Besides him being young and lacking combat training, he hasn’t really been working out. Viltrumites can get stronger and faster if they push themselves. If he starts a workout regimen and gets some more lessons in combat (something The Immortal could help him with) he’d stand a better chance.
I actually agree. It’s shown as shattered but with access to some sort of mysticism (which the GDA does have access to given the exorcism of Damien Darkblood) it could be repaired.
Also yes, the wielder has to swallow the gem to use their powers and they have to throw it up when they’re done, which is gross.
That said maybe we could give it to another hero instead. Like could it stack with Monster Girl’s powers? Imagine her with Flight and intangibility in addition to her own powers.
Personally I always thought that the Viltrumite’s superiority complex was a factor here. They view the Coalition as an annoyance, not a threat. I mean Allen, the Coalition’s best fighter couldn’t beat a single Viltrumite soldier in combat.
Also taking out the Coalition would be a logistical nightmare. The Coalition isn’t one planet it’s dozens of planets. To deal with them, the Viltrumites would need to conquer all of the planets that make up the Coalition and they can’t because they’re just stretched too thin right now. It’s why Nolan was sent to conquer Earth alone, he and his fellow officers were each assigned a planet to conquer and given a timeframe of 500 years to do so (that’s the reason he specified that amount of time to Mark during their fight). The Empire just doesn’t have the resources to mount a full offensive against the coalition because of the sheer size of it, so they leave the Coalition alone for the most part, let them gather worlds and species to think they have a chance against Viltrum, and then when the time is right, take out the Coalition government, squash any resistance and in one fell swoop add the entirety of the Coalition to the Viltrum Empire.
I mean she looked scuffed up and bruised but considering we know what Viltrimites can take my bet is that moment it looked like Mark was going to kill her she was just playing possum to either get the opportunity to stab Mark and/or gauge Mark’s ruthlessness to see if he’d be a worth addition to the Empire. Especially because they need Mark since Nolan has to be executed for being a traitor.
Well he did use his uniform as his costume for a while. My guess is it got damaged and that’s when he heard about Art, went to him to fix it and got talked into buying a whole new costume.
