i mean Kispert is alright, ik sengun is better but i’m not appalled by Kispert tbh
multiple other teams took worse players (Spurs with primo, hornets with bouk)
Bro… The pick is a complete bust. Sengun could have been the Wizard’s SGA. Corey Kispert is a bench player on the worst team in the NBA…
but if we took him we never would have witnessed back up center Danilo Gallinari
New management. New start. Let’s go.
I hate these revisionist history posts. Like we would have developed him properly being the third behind Thomas Bryant, gafford and porzingis. Y’all would have been bitching at the time that we “took another Deni”
So your logic is that because we are shitty at developing, we shouldn’t pick good prospects?
My point is he wouldn’t be what he is today if we had picked him.
I agree with that. But we still should have drafted him.
Every single one of these posts is nonsense. The Jalen Williams stuff and the other ones. People almost never stop and think about the situation we were in at the time. It would even be one thing if management wouldn’t do something the fans wanted, but nobody was truly pushing for Sengun. Not even to mention we had Jaime Echinique and nobody around here talks about him at all, and nobody cared when he was here.
Exactly. I don’t remember one person in here clamoring for sengun. I remember most people being pretty happy with kispert, and if iirc, many thought he might not even be there at 15.
Tommy drafted him we have a whole new front office now
Y’all remember when we took Jan over Klay, Kawhi, and Jimmy? Come on bro any fanbase could do this revisionist history bs all day.
I get you could call this revisionist. But look at pretty much any 2021 mock draft and he was supposed to go top 10. At 15 he was literally the #1 ranked guy available on the board.
At least with Jan, all those all stars were pretty later on in the round. Sengun was right there and as far as ranking go, he should have been picked. Then he goes literally right after us. I feel this is way different. I understand your opinion tho.
I see what you mean, but like others have said he would’ve joined a logjam at center and likely waste his first years in the league with us. There’s just so much that can be said about the Grunfield/Sheppard era(s) to the point that i think we’re all exhausted from talking about for 20 years. Yes they made some questionable picks, others downright awful. All we can do now is be shitty enough the next couple years so that the draft picks shouldn’t be hard choices.
yeah and Wizards could have signed their coach as well… but didnt. I am cheering for the Rockets now
That’s pretty egregious NGL. Cory’s ceiling was an unathletic shooter
