Crucify me but Renfrow is overhyped and overvalued by Raiders fans. If he gets 75+ receptions your team is awful. I love him as a role player but his paycheck says he’s a fringe WR1. I don’t hate Fro, I hate his contract. He’s a 2-3 reception per game guy and if he was paid like it I’d have him forever. But he’s not so he’s toast. Raiders > Player Worship.

Also, he got all those receptions because Waller was injured and Ruggs was arrested. His first 2 seasons, he had about 50 receptions with over 600 yards, and that’s not bad for rookie in the 5th round. In both seasons, Waller was a star with 1k yards. Tyrell and Agholor were WR1 in their separate seasons. 2021, he worked for the team while we lost players and coach. I think he really is worth his money and plays well. He has talent and is respected by defenses. His contract could be worked around in the future, but we have a horrible coach, and the contract is a waste since he isn’t being used. Well, everyone is open to their opinions.

He’s a pathological narcissist. He’s physically incapable of believing that anyone else knows more than he does. And he’d rather let his own mother die than ever admit fault for anything or concede that he made a mistake. It’s why he doesn’t like Renfrow. Renfrow’s entire game lies in creating space through improvisation and McDaniels interprets that as Renfrow contradicting his inarguably perfect game plan, and in so doing, essentially saying to McDaniels, “I’m right and you’re wrong.” Ridiculous as it might be, this is how the mind of a narcissist works.
As opposed to Kyle Shanahan who regularly benches talented players who don’t do what he says? Sometimes players aren’t a fit.
That still doesn’t mean McDaniel’s is a great head coach, but it’s a dumbass point to make when plenty of successful coaches act like this.
There are varying degrees of narcissistic behavior. Most egos would take a blow and might rethink their strategy riding a .385 winning percentage with his best year being his first year in Denver when Tebow literally ran to victory off script.
McDaniels traded up to draft Tebow, but he got fired before the season where Tebow started. His first year in Denver was getting rid of a young Jay Cutler fresh off a pro bowl season, and replacing him with Brady Quinn and Kyle Orton. They went 6-0 to start the season thanks to some lucky wins, but reality caught up to them and they finished 8-8.
That’s right. Sorry. I remembered that Tebow Magic was the only thing Denver got from the whole McD experience other than the need for a rebuild.
