The consensus here in the east coast is he’s a great coordinator, but not a good HC (I personally think he deserves a chance to coach somewhere else, inheriting the NJ Jets is no easy task). If the Niners don’t make the Super Bowl, and Saleh is looking for a coordinator job, it would be a no-brainer to bring him back, right? Just looking for some discussion/opinions.

Jets would be stupid to get rid of him, but yes I’d take him back in heart beat, his energy was the greatest thing I’d ever seen on a 49ers sideline from a coach.

Aaron Rodgers’ diva attitude hamstrung Robert Saleh’s ability to win games with the Jets this year. Rodgers wanted Hackett as OC, Rodgers wanted Boyle and Lazard on the team, Rodgers wanted to keep Zach as the starter. I really wonder what kind of decision making Saleh is allowed from his higher ups that want Rodgers and want to keep him happy.

I would take Saleh in a heartbeat over Wilks!

Jets fans are frustrated (to put it mildly, and I don’t blame them) with the situation and are willing to blame anyone.

Rebuilding a team takes time, especially now with Wilson at the helm. Rogers was their light at the end of the tunnel, but things happened.

Does anyone remember when Young went down and we have Stenstrom as the quarterback and he barely could throw the ball?

Glad those dark days are over.

No, it’s not a no-brainer. I’d say it’s not even an option, even if Saleh is available, unless Wilks gets another head coaching opportunity.

We were all frustrated by the defense during that 3 game losing streak, but they weren’t really that bad, just not as great as we expected them to be. They’re still a top 5 defense and they’re back to dominating now.

Thinking it’s a bad defense and we need to get rid of Wilks is like thinking Purdy is a system QB. It’s a narrative that isn’t based on facts. Maybe people are saying that in NY media, but they’ve been out of touch with everything 49ers for a while…

If we win the SB Wilks will be gone anyway. He’ll have a HC job for sure.
