There’s also certain basic requirements you’d hope he’d be able to gather out of these guys. Like they seem uncertain of who should bring the ball up every possession, as if they feel they should try to run the ball but aren’t sure whether they can. Like what’s the messaging?
Are we crashing offensive boards?
Are attacking the paint? Are we a three point shooting team?
Are we trying to run a high paced offense? Are we comfortable with our half court offense right now?
We have zero identity out there. Guys that can’t create their own offense need consistent messaging and a philosophy to follow and I’m not convinced that exists for them right now.
Total agreement here.
From a defensive gameplan standpoint I’m baffled at the mid range situation as well. We know a jenkins defense wants to protect the paint and not give up corner 3s, but in the game against the Heat and this game (minus Vince) we’re just giving mid range looks to one of the best mid range shooters in the league. Is that a player tendency thing (Roddy assuming the drive, etc) or is Jenkins legit not game planning for this? Bam shot open 13 footers 6-7 times in that game as well.
