After Friday’s games, the Suns are done with group play and are in second in their group. Their overall record is 3-1 with a +34 point differential thanks to today’s demolition of the Grizzlies. So any of these three improbable things have to happen on Tuesday for the Suns to miss the In-Season Tournament:

The Rockets have to beat the Mavericks in Dallas by at least 19. If they win by 17 or less and the Suns win by point differential. If the Rockets win by exactly 18, they would lose the total points tiebreaker unless they hung 171 on the Mavs, and it would have to be in regulation (in order for it to be an 18 point rout).

The Wolves would have to beat the Thunder in Minnesota by at least 38. Not impossible, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

The Warriors would have to beat the Kings in Sacramento by 28. This feels like the most likely of the three possibilities, but still pretty improbable.

Things are looking pretty promising for the Suns getting in as the Western Conference wild card.
