Houston’s strategy of “let Jokic have whatever he wants” was incredibly effective last night. When excluding Jokić from the Nuggets’ stat line, the Rockets’ held Denver to 48 points on 28.5 percent shooting from the field and 14.2 percent from behind the arc.
It’s only one game but I wonder if other teams will experiment with this. It really exposed a vulnerability with Denver.
This doesn’t work with Murray. Teams should feast while they have the chance.
That being said, there is a strategy that works with jokic, but requires sound offensive execution with low turnovers. Basically making him hedge and work a bunch on pnr to tire him, and having a big that he struggles backing down 1:1. I think Lakers, suns have good personnel for that.
Yep yep yep, just as I expected and predicted when we were 2-4 on November 5 after the loss to Philly… I said we would be number 4 by the end of November and here we are with 6 days to spare :-) They just needed to gel together and keep the boat afloat while waiting for Book to get back and lead the team back to the top :-)
Can’t wait to be number one in 2 weeks or so! GO SUNS!!!
To be the 1 seed without beal would be quite a statement. With a brand new team, brand new scheme, and book/kd missing games also.
To be fair, the suns schedule has been the lightest it will be all year, but still.
Our away record being better than home is kinda crazy
We still blow 4th quarter leads and are fighting the injury report every game but just having KD and Booker available is enough most nights to win it seems.
Funny thing is, we knew going in that there would be injuries, time needed to gel together, and lots of turnovers, yet theres still a lot of doomers freaking out.
The main points to fix are execution in the 4th quarter and fucking 3pt defense. We give up way too many open 3s. Other than that were in good shape
