Now, I’m not here to judge because I was also mad as hell on Thanksgiving, but the truth is the Lions’ window is just starting to open. The team is packed with very young talent and by all accounts, no one thought we would be 8-3 at this point two years ago.

This isn’t a reason to be passive or rest on laurels, and the team definitely needs to identify points of weakness and address them, but I’d much rather be sitting at the start of the window opening the when its closing.

I’m so sick of fans that are content with a certain level of success. The expectation should be a Super Bowl every year, that’s literally all that matters

The window can close as fast as it opens. Teams can go from good to bad and vise versa very quickly.

I think about this a lot. I get nervous with how well keep our good players but remember how good BH has been in the draft

Good teams reload, we just need to load up the defense to allow reload to happen on that side too

    Thank you for this.
Expectations should be curbed and the success appreciated

100% agree. I’ve always thought (and still kinda do) that our championship window opens the 2025 season. We’re only year 3 of the Holmes/Campbell regime and while the rebuild is certainly ahead of schedule, there are still significant talent defecits to be addressed still.

I think we have a fun, exciting and inspiring team. However, given the talent on defense, I think it’s difficult to say we’re better than the Niners or Eagles. We’re gonna get to the playoffs and anything can happen, but realistically we need more talent and depth in a number of position groups.

Bills window opened and closed in two seasons. They aren’t just open forever. Last year was a decaying ending to a season where we could have gotten some serious playoff experience with a HEALTHY roster. This year we are getting worse near the mid season point instead of getting better.

I think it really depends on what we end up doing with Goff. If he demands a massive deal that pays him like a top QB our window could shut rather quickly because outside of Patrick Mahomes, there isn’t a QB in the league right now that can overcome the limitations of a mega QB contract can cause to roster building/management.

I hope that Goff is having a bit of self reflection this season and sees that he is in about as ideal of a situation as he can be and will accept a team friendly deal if we even entertain the idea of extending him.

What kind of bum ass fans give up on their team, their QB, their coaches after going 8-3?
