Now, I’m not here to judge because I was also mad as hell on Thanksgiving, but the truth is the Lions’ window is just starting to open. The team is packed with very young talent and by all accounts, no one thought we would be 8-3 at this point two years ago.

This isn’t a reason to be passive or rest on laurels, and the team definitely needs to identify points of weakness and address them, but I’d much rather be sitting at the start of the window opening the when its closing.

    I think it really depends on what we end up doing with Goff. If he demands a massive deal that pays him like a top QB our window could shut rather quickly because outside of Patrick Mahomes, there isn’t a QB in the league right now that can overcome the limitations of a mega QB contract can cause to roster building/management.

    I hope that Goff is having a bit of self reflection this season and sees that he is in about as ideal of a situation as he can be and will accept a team friendly deal if we even entertain the idea of extending him.
