I don’t normally encounter toxic behaviors in game but today i had a similar situations twice.
I understand the frustration when you have a moira or kiriko that only does damage and forgets to heal but what about the healers that have upwards of 10k heals how are people still being toxic to them? Okay they miss a few utils or they didn’t manage to save me one time but they are still doing their job 10k heals and up. That is not doing nothing. Am i wrong to think that if my healers do that much healing the problem is elsewhere?
dps and tank gets blamed the same or more its not just supports
People get frustrated when they die, and when they die some look for blame. “Oh I could’ve survived if I got the heals bad healers &c”
haters gonna hate, that’s just what they do
Not justify be toxic of course, the problem for what i see playing as sup in some situations are, the dps receive a large amount of healing and do nothing then die anyway then blame the sup for “not heal” or the dps is in a position where If I the sup would try to heal him, both probably could die, and there is a situation where you play a sup who can do damage like kiriko, moira or baptiste and the player just stand behind the tank healboting the team instead help to get kills, or you are the player who do this and help the team get kills and get flame by the others because is your fault the other player be in a bad position and you didn’t heal him because as i said, this would kill both, or a last situation much more common, is better blame the others than who really sucks at the game
Not gonna justify being rude, but since you ask i have never had a dps refuse to get kills because of the character im playing, i one trick shamelessly and supports will absolutely single me out and refuse to help me just because of it, so if a more bitter person has enough of those same experiences i completely expect them to take it out on just any support. Plus the role is pretty strong atm so even suggesting that say a genji isn’t doing enough while you’re on lifeweaver is annoying because you can be the same skill level but genji is playing an objectively harder version of the same game
I do agree on that is not the right behavior to not heal for any reason. You should heal even if one is bottom fraging cause thats why you are there as a support to help and you can only pray that everyone else will do what they are supposed to do. That been said one tricking does make a match way harder for everyone. For better or worse the game encourages counters and if for example a genji is being too annoying i will change to zaria or moira or mei depending what i am playing to help deal with him and when that happens (if your team is okay) then genji’s kit just gets trashed and at that point changing to something that will help you deal with an especially annoying enemy will help your team more regardless of how strong your genji is. Ofc thats just how i play the game and how it works for me.
I disagree about one tricking, but everyone disagrees with me. But if you think about it you never stop to ask the person who just didn’t swap if they one trick, you only tell someone to swap and they say no I one trick. Let’s keep genji, you swap to Moira but he still hits his shots and kills you, so your dps goes sym and he can handle both of you, super impressive but not impossible, so your tank goes zarya. Now you have most of your team targeting 1 person and if your team isn’t making any value out of that thats not because you’re bad. Also, unranked to gm for literally any character is on YouTube, alot of people are good enough to one trick any character to gm, so the only reason me and other one tricks aren’t gm is the same issue everyone else has, a skill issue
One tricking can work I don’t doubt that and i have seen people make it work time and time again. It just feels like you are playing in extreme hard mode and occasionally when your enemies are better or better coordinated and do manage to shut you down you get a loss that may have been prevented otherwise. I don’t mind one trick players especially cause in my games the issues are most often bigger than the team comp. If that’s your way of having fun i have no problem with it. It can make a match harder for you and your team but so does a good enemy team comp so play as you like. For me the game is already hard enough without limiting myself to one character🤭
I think they want me to switch off of Zen, pick Lucio and spend the rest of the round spawncamping widow.
Good idea!
normal heal spams mean nothing though, its when someone is making a play/pushing in and conceding burst damage that’s where healing is needed and that’s exactly the times the supports are nowhere to be seen.
Also if Lucio keeps his healing beat on, he will likely have some of the highest healing - none of these are impactful in match circumstance.
Supports can pump a lot of heals across the match and that would have no impact if they don’t learn WHEN to heal. Also Kiriko players constantly wasting their cleanse when there’s clearly an Ana throwing grenades every 10 seconds doesn’t help matter.
Nowadays im trying more to rely on Sigma and Hog and have moved away from Ramattra so I don’t really need healing. So I don’t mind and infact encourage DPS supports because while they are clueless about when to actually heal the DPS supports atleast can do the point and shoot basics and inflict damage on the enemy. I used to hate having Zens but now I encourage it.
