If the Jets are stupid enough to fire Robert Salah. I think ML has always made a move to try to get his guys and I think Salah wouldn’t hesitate to coach with Matt.
This is the only way I see Joe Barry getting the axe.
What’s your guys thoughts and would you like him as a DC if this did happen?
As long as Dinglebarry is the Defense Coordinator the Green Bay Packers will never sniff the Super Bowl. Just look at his pass record.
To all those saying Rodgers injury shields Salah, you haven’t been paying attention. He is under intense fire because of how poorly he has managed the offense (and specifically, the qb position). Wilson has been truly awful. And he has left him in there for how many games (until last week). They have two really really good running backs. Trevor Siamian isn’t a good qb but he could hand the ball off and manage a few throws here and there. Why Tim Boyle is starting (one, much less two games) is almost inexplicable.
Granted, I don’t think Salah gets fired, but I don’t think it would be completely shocking if he does. He never adjusted to the Rodgers injury. With that D and those running backs, they should look at least respectable.
Don’t be fooled. Joe barry is not the guy at DC. I’ve never once heard a story of players rallying behind Joe Barry, being galvanized by Joe Barry, praising Joe barry, nothing.
Everybody seems to forget he full on lost the locker room at one point last year. Usually that’s an immediate death sentence, gone within the week. Insane he’s still here.
I’d love for that to happen but it’s about a 2% probability
I think only Matt LaFleur is the only one who really knows. Last time, his first choice was Jim Leonhard, who is currently, functionally, unemployed. If Matt wants the kind of defense that comes with Leonhard, it’s a pretty easy call to make.
That said, considering the injuries the Packers have had defensively and the defense not being an absolute disaster, Joe Barry should be considered the betting favorite to be here next year regardless of who is available.
