“It’s clear there was a marked difference in the preparedness to play this game. Kyle Shanahan had his team on it — exploiting weaknesses, flying out of the traps and dominating. The Seahawks were flat, slow and timid.”
You can replace Shanahan’s name with Mcvay’s, Harbaugh’s, and many others over the last couple years
Such insane negativity in this thread.
And it’s always from the same people. Check OP’s comment history - this is all he does. He thinks Pete sucks, Geno sucks, everybody sucks, burn it down.
I’m so glad the team isn’t in his hands.
Ita always th same people on Twitter, YouTube and reddit. They like to hear them selves complain.
Best thing for the future of the team would be to probably lose out the rest of the season, they’ll probably sneak out a win against the Titans and Cardinals but making the playoffs wouldn’t benefit this team at all. Rather get a better draft position and try and make a trade up for a quarterback, don’t have any enthusiasm if Pete is still coaching this team in 24-25, rather he just retires gracefully and let’s John choose his own head coach and quarterback.
Every time I read Rob’s blog I think of the big Lebowski. “You’re not wrong, you’re just an asshole.” Every time I talk to that guy he’s a dick.
Rob, the people who aren’t blocked from his blog and the people in here who perennially want to fire Pete, release Geno and burn this franchise down think that once this is done, we’ll start beating the Niners again and start winning postseason games again.
But the odds are stacked against that - it’s more likely we end the same perennial Wild Card exit team (look at the Vikings after they Zimmer for the same reason of being only mediocre). And it usually takes 2 or more seasons to complete a rebuild which means a couple of seasons as a bottom feeder.
We’ve picked up a lot of fans since the Super Bowl and LOB. I don’t think these fans are ready for sub 5 win season after season. For all the criticisms of the post 2016 years and our record against elite teams, we beat the bad teams. I don’t think a lot of this fanbase is ready for when we lose against bad teams.
But most of all, I don’t think we’re ready for the anti-Pete culture some seem to want. There are more and more comments about how the problem is that Pete lets his players be too undisciplined and be themselves too much and get away with too much. I wonder if we really want a Belichick style coach…
