Is it really worth it for either of the supports to leave the lane to get the 3 minute bounty? As an offlane player, it feels like the worst possible play that either a position 4 or 5 can make when both the cores are still in the lane. Is denying the gold or denying rune from the opponent mid worth that much? Am I missing something?

Radiant scenario works if safe lane is good for bot. Can rotate to help mid at 3:30 pick up bounty, setup for 4 min water rune.
Dire side not good, too much ground to cover.
If you leave lane for the 3 min bounty rune it’s an automatic grief on the lane.
Lotus is 10000000000000x times more important than the bounty rune EXCEPT in very specific scenarios where you coordinate with your mid laner and deny a bottle refill to the opponent mid which is difficult to do since 2 min water runes + 4 min water runes means it will be hard to prevent the opponent from getting a refill
Or if you got kills / bullied the opposing laner out of lane and your lane partner can freely get the lotus
