And no this isn’t a “We should’ve kept so and so” thread. This was more me thinking some of our guys with a great coach in Ime could’ve shined at least defensively.

For me, I think Josh Christopher and Garuba would look better at least defensively.

Josh played with a very high motor, but awful fundamentals/habits on defense like basically all of our squads. He would reach, and jump on every pump fake, etc. Jalen had similar issues or at least ball-watching last year which hasn’t been an issue this year.

Garuba I think would’ve looked closer to the defend 5 guys potential people hyped up for him under Udoka.

I would not say no to a Garuba reunion if possible since we desperately need a backup C. Not even Garuba, but anyone who isn’t awful in those minutes like Jock

    None of them.

We have Cam Whitmore just biding time in G-League.

Ime isn’t even rushing to get Amen involved.

No way any of last year’s guys touch the court this year except maybe Garuba after the disappointment of Jock.

But keep on mind that Ime shaped this roster, and he didn’t want any of them. He wanted those roster spots to go to Aaron Holiday and Jeff Green.

And he’s been right for that. We have 6 young guys already. We good.

Well, it would obviously be Nix of course

Seriously though, I think Garuba would excel, but KJM could have possibly grown a whole lot under Ime. If he’d develop a decent enough defensive skill he’d be a great offensive player off the bench.

He was a good helpside rim protector his rookie year. KJ really regressed on D the last 2 seasons

I honestly believe having Garry Bird on the team still would be great. Having us move the ball around and setting him up for easier knock down shots, he’d really be able to spread the floor better for our 2nd teams

KPJ - him as catch n shoot guy and his defense was improving last year, so he could have been even better under Ime

David Nwaba. Dude was honestly a very decent 9th man who could eat up minutes without being disastrous

Definitely KPJ, I believe Ime would have him coming off the bench and buying into the 6th man role. Many of us have said KPJ coming off the bench is his ideal role on a contending team.

KJ Martin. Would improve in his weaknesses and this offense would lead to a lot of easy backdoor buckets
