If we end up picking in the top 3 we are going to be in the exact same position we were in when we took Saquon at 2. In 2018 we knew we needed to start looking towards the future at qb, but there was a generational talent at the skill position avaliable. He was to tantalizing a talent to pass up on, and he has had incredible moments as a Giant. Yet most of those moments have come in seasons that were over by October. Today not one of us would take him over Josh Allen who was drafted at 7. For awhile I have been saying take MHJ if he’s there and snag Mccarthy, Nix, or Daniel’s in the 2nd/backend 1st, But those who do not learn from there history are doomed to repeat it.
This draft class at qb looks to be just as highly praised at the '18 one was, and I’d bet will be more successful since the qbs probably avoid at least one of the browns and jets. The best of those qbs was drafted in the 7th spot, which if we have success beyond my wildest expectations is where we will be picking. There is the thought that if we miss out on the expected best of the class in Williams and Maye that we should got BPA and draft MHJ. The problem with that is that the 2 rawest prospects of coming out in 18 are the 2 best. I think Daniel’s is going to be one of those guys and he’s going to begone by the 15th pick. We need to take him, or whatever qb we like over MHJ or we’re going to end up with another beautiful chandelier hanging in our portapotty.
This means one thing for our outlook on the rest of the season, tanking is not what we should be rooting for. The top 2 qbs taken, and the generational wr do not guarantee success and a change in culture. A locker room that is being developed to fight and win football games does. A young qb regardless of how high he is taken needs the kind of culture that believes in itself and fights tooth and nail, instead of giving up for the higher pick. Especially because the higher pick is not guaranteed to us or guaranteed to be the best of their class. We need to try and win football games and develop our fighting culture. Even if we win enough to move out of the top 10 we don’t need to trade into the top 3, the bills got their man at 7.
There’s no “tank or don’t tank”.
We beat a bad Washington team that turned the ball over six times. Tommy got sacked nine times. We are a terrible football team and only won because Washington couldn’t stop the turnovers.
The Pats are probably going to beat us tomorrow.
The Eagles will beat us twice.
The Packers will probably beat us.
The Rams will probably beat us.
The Saints will probably beat us.
This idea that we’re gonna win ourselves to picking like 10 or something is delusional. We’re more likely to pick one then we are to pick outside the top five.
It’s not a decision anyone has to make. The team is straight up garbage.
So we’re gonna waste his career too?
I think you’re forgetting we’re already set at QB 🤌🤌🤌
Aye yo I mean no disrespect, he’s a good kid
One big question is… would you put one of those rookie QB’s behind this current OL.
The giants need to draft a franchise qb with their first pick ,the higher the pick the better
I bought a Syracuse DeVito jersey…he’s the future! (Tommy DeVito is probably not the future)
