Every other team’s announcers are clearly more enthusiastic about their teams than the opponents. Our guys, especially Stu Lantz, are so critical of the Lakers and so complimentary of the opposing teams.

There’s such a marked difference even from the radio broadcast, where Ireland/Thompson still give respect to the other teams but don’t sound outwardly stoked when someone hits a big three against us.

Does this drive anyone else crazy? Or am I just being irrational?

    Unrelated, but it’s funny that the play-by-play guys criticize the Lakers and are celebrated by the sub, I criticize the play-by-play guys and get absolutely dragged by the sub lol

    The Lakers announcers are the only unbiased play by play in the league. They like seeing talented basketball players challenge our squad. They also pay tons of respect to our squad when we are playing well.

    I’ve never heard of any Lakers fan not liking Billy Mac and Stu… I personally get upset when they aren’t doing the games and I have to watch ESPN. If it’s on TNT I just switch to watch Chuck at the half then right back to Spectrum. I think it really sucks they don’t get to do later round playoff games.

    Bill’s excitement is great and Stu is always level headed and fair. When lakers are fucking up he’s not afraid to out right say it. I was only about 14 when Chick stop broadcasting but like people have mentioned you think Stu is bad, you must not have heard Chick. I remember as a kid asking my dad why he was also hard on players sometimes, but he said it’s because they were playing like shit.

    Stu Lantz just calls it the right way.

    Criticizes the team when they play bad. Same with Worthy and Rob from the studio commentary.

    No, they’re great! I’d rather have someone unbiased but still on our side than an annoying ass kisser in denial if we aren’t playing well. His commentary is usually informative and objective. It compliments well with Bill too. I like them.
