Poor officiating on both ends of the floor, but the calls strongly favored Embiid.

Chet played his ass off tonight. Kept the Thunder in the game. When Chet went out Philly made a run. If Chet stays healthy the team always has a chance.

SGA is a stud. Great player. But even great players make mistakes. About 15 percent of the time he forces his drives and because he is so smart and athletic he bails himself out. That still doesn’t change the fact that’s an area that he can improve his game.

I really hated to see JDub miss this game. He’s a very efficient scorer, with body mass. He “might” have been the difference in winning and losing this game.
-
Joe. We “might” be witnessing the emergence of the next Steph Curry. Even when he’s a little off you have the feeling that the next shot will be on target, and it often is. He is turning into such a complete player. Glad to see him continuing to develop.
-
Giddey. I’m not even going to go into his play tonight. You can copy and paste it from night to night. Not a fan.
-
Cason Wallace seems to have come back a little bit closer to earth over the past few games. He’s not playing BAD, he’s just being a little bit more inconsistent in his play. I’m still high on him and look forward to more play from him.

JWill. I have stated previously that JWIll would probably be an important piece against larger lineups. Tonight he played reasonably well against Philthy. The one difference between JWill’s play this year and last year is tht JWill seems to be a bit more tentative. I think he needs a bit more consistent playing time. I hope that the team takes some away from Giddey and gives it to JWill.

Dort may not be making highlight plays, but every night this year he has showed up on defense and has not played out of control or hero ball a single time that I can recall (I missed watching parts of a couple of games).
-
I’m not sure about Kenrich yet. There are streaks where he plays pretty well and others not so much. Hope he improves his consistency.
-
Wiggins made a few important plays tonight. Really all of the players except Giddey had significant moments.

We could have beat Philthy tonight, but we are very lucky to have kept this game as close as it was. Philthy could have easily beat us by 20 with Embiid camping out on the free throw line all night and Maxey shooting lights out. Good showing overall for the Thunder.
The team obviously keep starting Giddey. I don’t know why, but they do. Lol
I think the team is hoping that Giddey turns it around, which is reasonable. But we are getting a larger sample size as time goes on and it’s not looking good for him.
I think that the Thunder want the league to view Giddey as a “mis matched starter” so that they can trade him for a reasonable rate of return. But Giddey is regressing and most NBA teams are not stupid.
