I’m downloading a bunch of new games to play on this beautiful new OLED screen. But I forgot the screen doesn’t turn off. I didn’t care with my LCD SD but now that it’s OLED I’m not sure how to let it sit downloading a 90GB+ game without risking burn in even with dimming the screen.

Any recommendations on how best to handle? Does the screen turn off now in a setting I can’t find?

As the other person says, Desktop Mode is probably best. In the power settings, you can set display off time to 5-10min, and set the deck itself to not go to sleep at all; or a time longer than your download.

Just use the device. Unless you are literally running the same screen 24/7, you have nothing to worry about. Enjoy!

Burn in takes a reaaaaal long time. Wulf Den tested an OLED switch, took almost two years of being on solid to burn in and it isn’t even bad after that.

Don’t worry about it and just download games.

You’re not going to get burn-in. It took 2 solid years of displaying the same static image without ever changing it once to cause burn-in on a Switch OLED. It’s just not an issue for OLED panels of this size.
