I really appreciate Valve for making the Deck repairable and partnering with iFixit but what’s the point of it when the delicate parts such as ribbon cables, Left and Right daughter boards, and a few buttons aren’t available on iFixit?

I saw a post on iFixit the other day where the OP had to order cables from eBay because they weren’t available. I have a Deck with the infamous Left button issue because my relatives didn’t check before bringing it to my country where iFixit is not present.

I’ve been trying to source the left button board, asked iFixit and they said “It requires calibration” hence it isn’t available. It will be available soon they said. Well, that was almost a year ago.

Now I’m not sure if they’ll ever make it available since the left and right buttons are now on the Joysticks instead of daughter boards on the OLED version.

Now, most of you might say “You imported it, you should’ve known about the consequences,” and I agree. I know Valve has a history of doing things slowly but when you say “All parts are available on iFixit” you should mean it, literally.

Ya, I was at least happy to see they moved lb and rb buttons to joystick (as future owners will not have this problem anymore). I had to send my steam deck for repairs as I could not get daughter board from ifixit.
